The Academic Information Agency (AIA) is a part of the Centre for International Cooperation in Education, a subsidised organization funded by the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport of the Czech Republic with a view to implementing tasks related to education, training, and other contacts with foreign countries. It collects, processes, and disseminates information about education opportunities abroad for Czech citizens (chiefly HE students, postgraduate students, and teachers).

Applicants from all public HEIs in the Czech Republic are eligible to apply for scholarships advertised within competitive selections.

The scholarships are not linked to specific HEIs abroad.

Applicants are expected to seek by themselves the contacts they are interested in in relation to their field of study.

The duration of exchange, number of scholars, requirements on applicants etc. depend on international (bilateral) agreements based on which the scholarships are offered to the Czech Republic.

The MEYS announces tenders for scholarships abroad based on international agreements. (The AIA provides information).

We ask the participants, to announce their mobility at the International Office of their Faculty, where they may ask for travel costs reimbursement as well as travel insurance.

German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is an association of German universities and student organizations with headquarters in Bonn. It is financed mainly from the funds of the ministries of the Republic of Germany. DAAD is not only dedicated to granting scholarships, but it also supports the internationalization of German universities, German studies and the German language abroad.

The International Visegrad Fund was founded on June 9, 2000 by four member states of the Visegrad Group - the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia. The International Visegrad Fund supports regional cooperation within the Visegrad Region (V4) and between the V4 region and other countries, the Western Balkans region and the Eastern Partnership.

The fund provides (co)financing for joint cultural, scientific, research and educational projects, exchange stays of students and creative people, tourism development and cross-border cooperation.

The Visegrad Fund offers both grant and scholarship programmes.

Visegrad grants

Visegrad grants support regional partnerships between non-governmental organizations and civil society organizations, public institutions and municipalities, private companies and non-profit organizations, and educational and research centers that contribute to cooperation in the Visegrad region.

Visegrad+ grants

Visegrad + grants support projects that contribute to democratization and transformation processes in selected countries and regions, especially non-EU member states in the Western Balkans and Eastern Partnership countries.

Strategic grants

Strategic grants support a project focused on the annual strategic priorities of the Visegrad Group. Strategic priorities are announced annually by the V4 country, which at the time presides over the grouping.

Grant application deadlines

Applications are accepted three times a year. The dates are always February 1, June 1, and October 1. Applications must be submitted by 12:00 CET on the day.

Scholarships are awarded twice a year on a competitive basis to scientists, artists or journalists from V4 and non-V4 countries who want to conduct research at OSA and whose current research projects correspond to the focus and research priorities of the Fund and OSA.
