Learning Agreement
- Students must choose their courses in the Mobility online application for at least 15 or 20 ECTS, depending on the faculty they will be enrolled in.
- The majority of courses (min. 60%) need to be from one department, and the course selection has to be based on the field of their study! Each student must be enrolled at a respective UP (related to his/her major) department and must select the majority of her/his courses from this department.
- After the course selection is approved by the respective UP coordinator, the student registers the approved courses in the study system called STAG and creates a so-called Learning Agreement (LA).
- The student downloads, signs, and has this document signed by the coordinator at their home institution.
- The signed LA will be uploaded back to STAG, where it will be signed and uploaded by the respective UP coordinator.
- The LA must be signed by all 3 parties as soon as possible before the student´s arrival.
Accommodation
University Dormitories
- Staying in a dormitory allows you to live on campus or nearby, making it easy to connect with other students. Our university dormitories are safe and clean. Most international students are accommodated in the dormitories, and they are usually satisfied here.
- If the student decides to stay at the university dormitories, the accommodation is automatically booked by the Office for Mobility based on the information provided in the online Mobility application.
Private Accommodation
-
If you prefer to find housing on your own, private rentals are also an option. We recommend using the Welcome Office website to explore listings for apartments and shared housing.
-
In this case, it is student´s responsibility to arrange the accommodation and all accommodation documents needed for visas.
Visa
- Students coming from non-European countries must apply for a long-term visa for the purpose of study.
- Your coordinator at the Office for Mobility will send you an original copy of two documents needed for a visa application: Proof of Study and Preliminary Accommodation Contract (provided that the student applied for the accommodation at the dormitory). Please note that these are not the only documents needed for the visa application. The list of required documents can be found on the respective Czech embassy website.
- It is necessary to apply for a visa at least 2 months before the start of the semester.
- Further visa information can also be found here.
- Always inform your Office for Mobility coordinator about the status of your visa application.
Student facilitation program (Režim student)
- The Student facilitation program facilitates visa / residency permit application submission for students from certain countries admitted to Czech universities.
- The registrations are submitted twice a month by the UP Office for Mobility.
- Successfully registered students are contacted by the respective embassy usually within 5 working days after the registration deadline.
- More information is available at the website of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.
Medical insurance
- Travel health insurance must cover the costs of comprehensive health care for the entire stay in the Czech Republic.
- Students need to arrange comprehensive health insurance which must include:
- the minimum insurance cover EUR 400,000 without co-payment.
- must include preventive and follow-up (= regular medical supervision during certain disease) treatment and care related to pregnancy and childbirth.
- We highly recommend purchasing Comprehensive Health Insurance PLUS/EXCLUSIVE from the Czech insurance company VZP.
- Health insurance must be bought on-line before picking up the student visa at the Embassy of the Czech Republic.
- The student is required to obtain the insurance with his/her own means.
Cancelation of the Mobility
- It is really important to let us know if the mobility of the nominated/accepted student has been cancelled. Using the online nomination and application system, we would appreciate if you cancel the mobility directly in the system, instead of sending an e-mail, which could be sent additionally.
- The UP online nomination and application system will enable to cancel the mobility any time during the application process or even after the acceptance. Please note that the cancelation is not required from both the coordinator and the student, it is sufficient if it is done by one of them.
If the mobility is cancelled after the nomination has been submitted, the coordinator or the student must WITHDRAW their online application by clicking on the WITHDRAW button in the application form.
